The MNE250SMA-AC-SINGLE master contains a 60 amp, 120/240-volt manual input/output bypass mechanism as well as separate 60 amp, 120/240 volt AC input, and output breakers. As part of an AC Coupled device, this E-Panel can be used with a Sunny Island inverter. A 250 amp battery disconnect breaker and inverter cables are included. AC input and output wiring are pre-installed.

The master has a 60 amp, 120/240vac input/output bypass system as well as separate 60 amp, 120/240vac AC input and output breakers. If three-stage charging is desired, RS485 boards are needed when AC coupling to SunnyBoy inverters. The Sunny Island inverter and each SunnyBoy inverter each have one RS485 board. Without RS485 boards, an AC link to the SunnyBoy grid-tie inverter is possible. The Sunny Island grid-tie inverter would frequency shift in response to battery voltage, effectively knocking the grid-tie inverter off the grid. When RS485 boards are used, SunnyBoy inverters can automatically switch between off-grid and grid-tie mode. You’ll need an SMA service cable (USBPBS) or an SMA web box to program this functionality (SUNNYWEBBOXU).
The critical loads’ backup panel still has 120/240 volts available. In the critical loads’ panel, 60 amps are available on leg 1 and 30 amps on leg 2. One MNSPD-300 is included as standard.
